The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council (NHDSC) is calling all hot dog enthusiasts to celebrate National Hot Dog Month by creating their own hot dog meme. There are endless possibilities! We want the most creative, unique, and funny hot dog meme you can think of. And best of all, making your meme and entering it is simple.

  1. Become familiar with the latest meme trends through social media, google, etc
  2. Find the image you want to use by searching the internet
  3. Right click on the image
  4. Click ‘copy image address’
  5. Search Kapwing
  6. Click ‘meme generator’
  1. Decide on the text you want your meme to have
  2. Click the style of meme you want
  1. Click ‘make it’
  1. Click ‘replace’
  1. Right click in this area
  1. Click ‘paste’
  2. Click on the text you want to edit
  3. Click ‘edit’
  1. Type your text
  2. Change colors or the style of text if you would like
  3. Click ‘done’
  4. Your text will appear on your meme, check that everything is how you like it
  5. Click ‘publish’
  1. Click ‘download
  1. The file will appear at the bottom of your screen, click it
  1. Click the three dots in the top right corner
  1. Click ‘save as’
  2. Name the file and click ‘save’

How to Enter:

Submit your meme by emailing contest@hot-dog.org. All memes must be emailed by July 12, 2019. In your submission email, please include your name, phone number, and address.

Prizes

Send meme, win hot dogs! The most creative, grand prize winning entry will receive a $250 gift card for their favorite hot dogs. First runner-up will receive a $100 gift card, and second runner-up will receive a $50 gift card. The top three will also receive NHDSC t-shirts and wristbands.

Winners also receive tickets to the Great American Beer Festival in Denver this October!

The Fine Print

  • Limit three entries per person.
  • The contest is open to individuals. Corporate entries are ineligible.
  • Entries should be appropriate for all ages. Any memes deemed vulgar/profane by NHDSC staff will be immediately disqualified, along with any other entries submitted by that individual.
  • All memes submitted as entries in this contest become the property of the National Hot Dog & Sausage Council. Anyone submitting a meme waives all claims to said meme.
  • By submitting your meme via email you acknowledge that the meme you are submitting may be selected for inclusion on the National Hot Dog &Sausage Council Facebook page and in an online compilation of the winners. Media will be alerted through a national press release that will identify the winners. You acknowledge that the meme also will be provided to media who request it for broadcast use. You also acknowledge that the meme becomes the property of the National Hot Dog & Sausage Council for promotional use.
  • If you are selected as a winner, you agree that the National Hot Dog & Sausage Council may publicize your name and likeness on its website. Apart from the prizes associated with being selected as a winner, the National Hot Dog & Sausage Council shall not be obligated to compensate you in any way for such publicity.
  • Each entrant shall indemnify, defend, and hold the National Hot Dog & Sausage Council harmless from any third party claims arising from or related to the entrant’s participation in the contest.
